Star - Rihanna

The defination of a star is when the interest in their personal life outweighs the interest in their professional career of a musician.
Here is some research I did on Rihanna and on her star persona.
Unique selling point? If not does it matter? Why?
Her selling point is that she is edgy and versatile. She has the ability to change her look and make a trend out of it. Shes not only a musician she is also an actress and producer to a programme 'Styled to Rock'. I dont think with her and how popular she is that a usp is important because she comes across powerful anyway.
What idealogies do they convey?
She is quite sexual in what she wears and how she acts whilst on stage. She portrays her confidence as a women by showing off her body but this also encourages people to look at her as a sexual object.
Do they conform or challenge the cultural 'ideal'?
In some ways she conforms by following recent trends in what she wears on a night out, or day to day but when it comes to hair styles and what she wears on stage she switches. She wears costumes different to every other celebrity and this makes her stand out.
Example of something that has been/could be harmful to their star quality
She was recently kicked out of a club for being a 'diva' which damages how she is seen by the public, through interviews this contradicts what she has said. She has also been photographed smoking canabis in barbados, also damaging how she is seen as a role model.
