Retro.
normally shot front on to the singers/action until it gets to the chorus then pan round the singers at an angle (almost like your watching a performance). Mid-close-ups of all the singers one by one. In the chorus a lot more shot types e.g shot from behind, framing, long shots etc. Cuts between the group singing the song and to the storyline. Uses literal links to the storyline. I think it uses lip-syning as they are also dancing. The colours and mise-en-scene at the beginning contrast the colours and mis-en-scene at the end so the song changes as the storyline also changes e.g pastel colours and up tempo. end o the song they are wearing black as well as their make-up.
Beyonce - Love on top
Same set-up environment but just plain so beyonce is the main focus. Microphones are the main focus. Only looks at them front on butfront different anges e.g birds eye an pans down to a close up of her feet. Dance is a strong aspect of this video. Beyonce is in front in front of all the dancers - in control. Again lip-yncing as he dance is to advanced. Cuts to a shot of her on her own - emphasis on how the focus is on her. Then doing the same dance routine but she is in a different outfit- good continuity. With lights flickering and lighting the room, more dramatic and glamourous. again filmed from the front. Another costume change, camera is looking up again showing her dominance. Almost has a story in itself like it has been building her up to be on stage the whole time. first time we see behind the dancer maybe like we are watching a show? Been wearing mens clothes but with a feminine twiat e.g tighter fitting, lower necklines.
