The animated drawings

The birds where the main focus of the drawing animation this is because they emphasize the image of flying. I originally drew two sets of birds (two different directions) with their wings flapping to create the illusion of flying however; as the video develops I drew different position such as sitting down and signing. Each movement for one bird needed at least two drawings to interchange between the two to make it animated instead of just moving the image physically. I also had to change the size of the bird sometimes so when the shot zoomed in it was the correct proportion it was previously.  Here is the drawing design of the bird.

This was my first idea for it should look and was the one I decided on because it was simple and cartoonish which is what we had decided as a group would be the style of our animation. I decided to leave it black and white like the artist so it doesn’t focus the eye away from her.

The idea of the faces was inspired by a 50’s carton book which is highly stylized and simple. This was because at the time they had to make their animation economical and simple to match the respected budget and the limitation of the technology at the time. I thought as our animation was simple and on a low budget I would try to create something similar. I did a girl’s face talking and a boy’s face talking, each had to have two drawing to look like the mouth was opening and closing.

I did a very simple cartoon balloon drawing which was coloured red and had one shine on it as it iconic and how we recognise a balloon to conventionally look.

For the animated part I found it quiet difficult .When it was as a whole I drew two balloons to interchange with to give the impression air was moving it however, the actual busting of the balloon prove more difficult. I had to draw several stages where it looked like it was breaking in half and then into just small pieces.
