Half term homework

We are still working on our star persona however we have few ideas in mind what it might look like. As our song genre is pop we have to focus on some aspects that pop has, which are usually about happiness and relationship. In our music video we already have portrayed the main character being happy with the environment being bright and symbols of happiness such as the birds and the funky faces the character makes at the start of the video. We decided to use some of the key symbols for our digi-pack such as the balloon that is in the video. In the video the character is dressed casually and that’s what we might consider for our digi-pack as well since it gives sort of casual feeling to the audience that the artist is more like them. We also might consider having a subtitle on our digi-pack cover that could be something significant as well. Our star persona is going to portray innocence, to portray this we might dress her with some rich dress that might portray it. I feel that we should express our star persona with the birds because they are a sign of joy. Also the lyrics play a big factor which sort of talk about freedom by “flying away”, also with some camera work such as fading out at the end of the video could express a happy ending.

We looked at other artist promo packages and see what they have in common and what are some of the differences. For example Ellie Goulding always has simple album covers. Usually with her album cover it consists of background somehow linked with the main single of her album and a photograph of her, which is simple but fancy. In our digi-pack cover we might include some bright colors or consider darker lightning for a more mysterious look or even cut out the artist from it leaving it even more abstract. We also thought of including special features such as our star persona answering interview questions and talking about her upcoming gigs and etc.

Some of the ideas for our digi-pack are doing something similar to what Ellie Goulding has on her album covers making it simple but interesting at the same time. We thought about having some photographs of our artist and then add some different background to it and maybe even add some effect on Photoshop. I that our background could be something similar to the location we used in our video however we would photograph it in real life, since the effects on the background could really be mood swinging, and with the right effects could help us portray our star persona.
